Tuesday was a bad day all around. Zack did the best he could to make my
evening better, but the whole day was frustrating and I was exhausted so
his efforts weren't met with good results. But today made up for
everything. Here are some pictures from my work today--a good day all
around.

I love working for the City of Enid. I was excited to find out about upcoming plans for the city at our employee meeting today. Even though I had to stand in front of everyone for an introduction and later had to answer, "What was your first reaction when you found out you were moving to Enid, Oklahoma?" it was a good meeting. In case you were wondering, I answered honestly. I thought I was moving to the middle of nowhere. In some ways, I was. And in other ways, it's really not that bad. It just depends on which day you're asking.

the koi pond at work
I'm working on the new parking lots at City Hall. The one in front of our building allows me to pass this pond several times a day. It's beautiful. I wish my office looked at this, or looked at anything for that matter. Guess it's a good thing I'm forced to be out of my office all day!

see? I'll have aerial views of vance at my work while zack gets the real deal
Right outside my office is this picture and everytime I look at it I think of Zack. Soon he'll be flying above base and seeing this (once he gets a chance to really enjoy the view and not only look at his controls!) Maybe I'll have to go outside my office and chair fly ;)

our beautiful artwork and sweet notes from the kids
After work I came home to the best mail ever! Natalie, Joseph and Leah sent us these beautiful pictures and sweet notes. Miss these kids so much. Now my refrigerator reminds me of them all the time. All the notes, pictures, drawings, etc. that we get from our younger siblings, nieces, and nephews are being compiled so that one day we can start sending them back. I think every birthday after they turn eighteen we'll mail back a piece of their precious artwork and humorous notes. I like beginning traditions like this. Right now we do a dollar for whatever age they are turning (I know, exponential growth!), but after eighteen I think we'll start doing this (especially since we can't afford to keep going with dollars after that with our 17-and counting-nieces and nephews!)
We also got a package of 6 different pairs of oh-so-stylish glasses the Air Force provided for Zack.

don't worry...we're actually cool
If nothing else, these glasses provided some entertainment for the three of us tonight.
Got a new hat with the new City of Enid logo. I like it. Hadley does not.

The best package in the mail tonight was my birthday present from mom and dad Pittman. Remember how I mentioned I love when my birthday continues all month long?!?! I was SO excited for my new digital picture frame. As I write this, I am downloading all of my mother-in-law's beautiful digital scrapbook layouts. It is the perfect way to have pictures of all the family we love and miss. Also, we get the added bonus of admiring all the work that goes into each layout everyday--and get to share them with all our guests, too! This was the perfect ending to a great day.
