Missing the Mist

Today is in the 60's and has been raining most of the day.

I know this line would have been my opening line every day if I blogged just a few short months ago.

Of course, here in Oklahoma our rain is accompanied by thunder and lightning, but it still just reminds us of home. We desperately miss Seattle, the drizzle and all. We miss the cold weather, especially after all this heat and humidity! We miss good customer service everytime we go to any store or restaurant. We miss drinking hot coffee all day long. We miss our friends at home. We miss being able to go home to Centralia each weekend. We miss the good food and all our favorite places. Zack especially misses Thai Food and on rainy days like today I'd kill for Pho.

My birthday wish would be to walk to Pike's Place and pick out a present, eat dinner at Elliott's and finish with Molly Moon's. All day long I'd like good Starbucks, views of the mountains and the water, a bike ride with some hills, and more purple and gold surrounding me. I long for a fire at the beach and a night in the cabin.



We really do try to make the most of Oklahoma. We love our new home and our new friends. But sometimes you just remember your old life and old home--and I always remember Seattle food :) We knew we'd miss the people, the trees, the water...but it's funny to miss that darn rain!
