Exactly one year ago was the craziest blur of a day. Ever.
We started off with Zack's commissioning ceremony where we got to spend the day with all the Pittman's in uniform. Betsy sang the National Anthem, Jer and Jed gave Zack his first salute, his parents and I pinned on his ranks, and the rest of the family came for support and cheers!
I wasn't sure I'd make it to my graduation, but after driving like a maniac to Seattle Center I ran in and got in line just as the processional began. Zack popped in just as the speaker was wrapping up (lucky!). I was SO glad I made it because I got a surprise during the ceremony--The Student of the Year award from the Department of Construction Management.
Later we got to celebrate with a party at SU.
Also, my little brother graduated from high school on the same evening! Told you...crazy day!
Such good memories. Missing our family. Can't wait for almost exactly one year from today when Zack graduates from pilot school. Hoping it won't be as crazy...but also hoping for the same memories and family to join us.
In the last year we have both used our degrees and had really good jobs non degree related...and have even missed just being students at times. I know everyone told us we would, but in that last year I really didn't believe them. Now that Zack is back studying each night, it makes me think of all our times in college.
