Between Thanksgiving and Christmas we managed to move to Alabama. It was a busy way to end 2012. Thank goodness for friends who helped make it possible! Thank you so much Melissa and Michaela for all you did-we couldn't have done it without you.
We packed, cleaned, and said goodbye to our friends. Then, we hit the road excited for all the unknowns of what awaited us in Alabama. We had signed a lease for a house that we had only seen pictures of online, so we were eager to see our house, neighborhood, and base in person.
Although Zack has visited several times before, I had never been to Alabama and did not know what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I absolutely love it here. I'm pretty sure that God had us live in Enid just so that we would genuinely appreciate everywhere else we get to live.
Our house is great. It's starting to finally look like our home, too. We were able to unpack the whole house before we packed up to leave for Christmas. All that's left is some decorating and organizing the garage. Pictures to come once it's done!
The base is pretty awesome, too. We like all it has to offer and haven't even had time to check out most of it yet. There are lakes, trails, trees...it's beautiful.
We live in a tiny town, but we're used to that now. We're close to "civilization" and close to the beach, so we're happy campers. First trip to the beach is coming up this weekend. Can't wait!

Oh, and the absolute best part of living in Alabama.... being close to Jer & Abby's family.

I loved the part about God placing you guys in Enid. That is so humble of you. Happy 2013 ! Hope to see you guys soon!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Alice. You'll have to come down this way. We should all do a trip down to the beach or something - go meet up with the Stevensons! hmm...better start brainstorming!
DeleteWell that house isn't adorable... I'm thinking you upgraded a little bit.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely an upgrade. Increased BAH and decreased rent...perfect equation.
