Christmas Catch Up

A little Christmas catch up and then I'll be somewhat current on this blog.

We had a great December complete with company, Christmas traditions, and a trip to Reno. The first weekend we enjoyed a squadron Christmas party downtown. Then we enjoyed another weekend with Granmama and Miles and the squadron children's Christmas party -- where Zack flew Santa into the party! Right before our trip we had dear friends come visit us for a fun night. Then we enjoyed our time in Reno with a little bit of snow, a lot of friends and family, and a ton of fun!

All the way back to November

Hello blog-that-I-have-neglected-for-far-too-long. We have been busy with lots of company, travels, and having fun.

November looked a little something like this...

Jacqueline came for a quick visit!

Daddy worked the Nellis Air Show all weekend, so Elliott and I tagged along. We had a blast.

honestly...this is so easy I can eat an apple and shoot at the same time!

We also enjoyed Veteran's Day, a visit from Auntie Tavia, a visit from Zandra, and we finished painting our whole downstairs.

Then... Drumroll, please...
ELLIOTT TURNED ONE!!!!

And what an awesome birthday that was. To read more about it, click here

Then we had a full house for Thanksgiving. It was special to celebrate our first holiday in our new house with so many friends and family. Thanks to all who came to make the weekend so special and fun.

We finished November with decorating the house for Christmas and relaxing after all the celebrations.

O-N-E!

I thought the lengths parents went through to celebrate a one-year-old were quite ridiculous. I mean, the child has no idea what is going on. But, then Elliott turned one and I realized how much fun it is to celebrate as a parent. So we did.

On his birthday we ate waffles for breakfast, opened a present, ate at In-n-Out for lunch (because who doesn't want French fries for their birthday?), played at the park, and welcomed Granmama, Miles, and Uncle Bugs to our house.

The next day we celebrated with a meal at DW Bistro (per Elliott's request...smart kid). Elliott even extinguished his candle on his birthday cake...with his bare hand!

Then after all the Thanksgiving feasting, Friday we had a little airplane cake and presents for E.

I think overall, I probably had the most fun. But, I mean, I did a lot to make it through this first year. It's justified, right?

We cannot believe Elliott is one. But boy is he sure a lot of fun right now.

At one you...
Talk a lot, but the only decipherable words are "mama," "yeah," and (not really a word, but it's decipherable) a sound you make when you want your sippy cup

Smile showing all of your teeth

Crawl up and down the stairs SO fast we can't keep up with you

Open and close doors, cabinets, drawers...you're into everything

Are still a picky eater, but you love peanut butter and eat it everyday on everything

Still like to nurse in the mornings

Like to ride in your wagon around the neighborhood every afternoon

Learned to give kisses-and boy do I love your slobbery kisses!

No longer have a pacifier...because your mean parents made them all disappear!
